Chaos and gigantic lines mark the last days of Macdonald’s in Russia

In a statement issued by the company, it explains that this measure will affect the 62,000 employees that the chain has throughout Russian territory, who will continue to be paid their salaries, as well as suppliers and other partners in the food business.

The famous McDonald’s, gigantic hamburger chain and American symbol, announced that it is temporarily closing its 850 locations in Russia and putting its operations “on pause”> because “we cannot ignore the unnecessary suffering caused to Ukraine>>.

McDonald’s recalls that it has been operating in the country for more than thirty years and that its restaurants can boast of serving «millions of Russians daily»>.

The statement with the closure of the franchises has been sent to each of the affected premises and their employees, says the company, which states that its number one priority since the beginning of the war “has been and is the people”>.

“As a company, we join the world in condemning aggression and violence, and praying for peace”>, reported

The statement recalls that the chain’s restaurants in Ukraine have also been largely closed, but its employees continue to receive their full salaries.
