A movie-like incident shook an Iberia flight. On Saturday afternoon, a tarantula bit the pilot mid-flight on an Airbus A320 traveling between Düsseldorf and Madrid. But the most alarming part? The captain was allergic to spiders.

The airline reported that the pilot is out of danger. The crew’s quick response was crucial: they administered a corticosteroid from the plane’s first-aid kit to prevent an allergic reaction. Despite the scare, the flight continued without major issues.

Interestingly, the passengers remained unaware of the incident during the flight. However, after landing at Barajas Airport in Madrid, the disinsection protocol was activated, leading to the fumigation of the aircraft and delaying the next flight to Vigo by three hours.

Although there is no official confirmation, it is suspected that the tarantula may have boarded the aircraft during a stopover in Casablanca, Morocco, the previous Tuesday. Since then, the plane had completed multiple flights across various European cities.
