Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is just a few months away from being released.  The upcoming title has fans all over the globe on a big hype and there is a lot of anticipation around this sequel. As a result, gamers have already visited the PlayStation Store to pre-order a new copy in hopes to start playing the video game as soon as it hits consoles. Unfortunately, the sequel to Spider-Man might be unable to be played in the Middle East.

According to pictures and information across social media, the video game can be pre-ordered and details regarding the release date, price, and age rating can be corroborated in the PlayStation store. However, these details seem to have vanished from the same digital stores in Middle Eastern countries. Fans are stating that one can try to enter the site and will see the deluxe edition on the store, but it is not possible to purchase it, and then  error message is displayed as this happens.

In addition, in the stores in these countries affirm that the title is “yet to be announced” and that the release date has not been determined. As a result, the communities in the Internet have begun to wonder the reason why this situation might be taking place. Users are speculating that this could be a mistake in the region or that the game could be delayed. Others are stating that the Middle East could probably censor or ban the super-hero video game if it breaks the content guidelines in this region.

It is important to remember the Middle East countries usually prohibit material that breaks their regulations, as it happened before with The Last of Us: Part II and Final Fantasy XV. These titles were banned for presenting LGBTQIA+ characters in its content, so it is possible that something similar could happen to the Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 release.
