The first of several shipments totaling more than $200 million in security assistance to Ukraine’s armed forces was authorized by President Joe Biden in December.

This weaponry arrived at Borispol airport, Kiev,” the US embassy in Kiev posted on Facebook.

The delivery of weapons is part of the additional military aid supplies to Kiev amid tensions on the border with Russia and “demonstrates Washington’s firm commitment” to Ukraine’s right to self-defense, the note said, according to information from EFE.

The US government indicated that it will continue to support the Ukrainian Army in its “continuous effort” to defend the sovereignty of “Russian aggression.”

“As President Biden told Russian President Vladimir Putin, in the event of an invasion of Ukraine, the US will provide Kiev with additional defensive material,” the statement added.
