American company, Boeing, has found quality issues again in its 787 Dreamliner Airplane. In consequence, this could probably cause the delay of deliveries for their customers.

In this case, Boeing was able to detect the quality flaw in one of the mountain accessories on the horizontal stabilizer of its star airplane 787 Dreamliner. The company is now working with its mechanics team to correct the current issue. Recently, the company has made a statement in which the quality problem is explained:

We are inspecting 787s in our inventory for a nonconforming condition related to a fitting on the horizontal stabilizer. Airplanes found to have a nonconforming condition will be reworked prior to ticket and delivery.

The situation Boeing has described is mostly related to spacing in the horizontal stabilizer, and it does not have any implications regarding flight safety of the company’s airplanes under fixing, nor the aircraft in service. Because of this, their airplanes will be able to remain in flight with no problem. In addition, near-term deliveries will be made in about two weeks.

According to reports by Seattle Times, this imperfection is related to tiny separation in the mounting accessory of the aircraft, and can be corrected with the use of a small plate known as shim. However, the shims that are being utilized for the accessories do not have the correct size, so separations are different from the required standard.
