Israel Confirms Injuries and Damage Following Iranian Missile Attack Amid Unprecedented Escalation

At least seven people were injured in central Israel following a missile barrage launched by Iran on Friday night, according to Israeli rescue teams. Despite the scale of the attack, none of the victims are reported to be in serious condition.

Eli Bin, director of Magen David Adom (MDA), Israel’s emergency medical service, stated that medical teams were treating seven people in the Dan region: one sustained moderate injuries, while four others suffered light shrapnel wounds. All were evacuated to Ichilov and Sheba Tel Hashomer hospitals. Additionally, four individuals were treated for anxiety.

Meanwhile, the Israeli fire service reported it was responding to “serious incidents” caused by the attack, including rescue operations in a building where some people were trapped. Footage aired by Israel’s Channel 12 showed at least one residential building that had taken a direct missile hit.

The Iranian offensive came hours after Israel had carried out multiple strikes on Iranian territory. In retaliation, Tehran launched dozens of ballistic missiles toward Israel, marking an unprecedented escalation in an already volatile Middle East.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that missile defense systems were fully operational and engaged immediately. Nevertheless, the country remained on high alert. Authorities instructed the population to stay in protected areas and not to leave shelters unless explicitly directed.

Videos circulating on social media showed Iranian missiles streaking across the night sky and being intercepted mid-air. Despite these defensive measures, several projectiles managed to breach the Iron Dome and hit the city of Tel Aviv, where smoke plumes were seen rising after the impacts. Loud explosions were also reported in Jerusalem, likely due to other interceptions, according to AFP correspondents.

From Tehran, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei warned that the response would be decisive. “The Zionist regime will not escape unscathed from this crime. The Iranian nation must be assured that our response will not be half-hearted,” he said, adding that Iran’s armed forces would act with determination “to make Israel miserable.”

An unnamed Israeli political source issued a stark warning in return: “Iran will pay an unbearably high price for its attacks on civilian areas. We know what Israel hit [in today’s strikes on Iranian targets], and we know what Israel chose not to hit. That’s the next step.”

In neighboring Jordan, authorities reported the fall of missile debris intercepted in the air. The country’s Public Security Department confirmed that fragments landed in several areas without causing injuries, though it refrained from offering further details for security reasons.
