An unidentified vehicle plowed into a crowd in East Hollywood, Los Angeles, in the early hours of Saturday, leaving at least 28 people injured, according to AFP.

The incident occurred around 2:00 a.m. local time near a music venue on West Santa Monica Boulevard, an area known for its vibrant nightlife and proximity to landmarks such as Sunset Boulevard and the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

More than 100 firefighters from the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) responded swiftly to the scene to provide medical assistance. According to the latest official report, three individuals are in critical condition, six are seriously injured, and 19 have sustained minor injuries.

Authorities had initially reported between four and five critically injured patients, but the number was revised following a more thorough assessment.

The LAFD is overseeing triage and patient transport operations in coordination with other city emergency services.

So far, no fatalities have been reported. The area remains cordoned off as authorities continue investigating the circumstances of the incident and work to identify the driver, who has yet to be located.
