Israel on High Alert After Missile Launch from Iran

The Israeli military confirmed on Saturday that missiles had been launched from Iran toward Israeli territory. In a recent statement, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported that their air defense systems are active and working to intercept the threat.

“Civilians are instructed to immediately enter protected spaces and remain there until further notice,” warned the Home Front Command, the body responsible for coordinating civilian security measures during emergencies. The directive prohibits leaving shelters unless explicitly authorized by authorities.

While officials await more precise information regarding the trajectory and range of the missiles, the country remains on high alert as authorities continue to monitor the situation closely.

Shortly after the announcement, air raid sirens sounded in Jerusalem, followed by loud explosions, according to AFP reporters on the ground. In a second statement, the military said the alarms were triggered after detecting missiles originating from Iran.

The explosions heard in Jerusalem were consistent with previous defensive interception efforts, according to field correspondents who compared the sounds to earlier incidents.

A senior Israeli military official warned that “dozens of Iranian ballistic missiles are en route to Israel,” underscoring the seriousness of the attack and raising fears of a potential military escalation. So far, it has not been confirmed whether the missiles have reached Israeli territory or were intercepted in flight.

The incident unfolds amid heightened regional tensions and may prompt a direct military response. The international community is closely watching developments with growing concern.
