On this day, fans celebrate Kobe Bryant and the two jersey numbers he wore during his career with the Los Angeles Lakers (8/24). The timing for this surprise was perfect because NBA 2K24 has dedicated many of its efforts to the basketball superstar.

Every August 24th is a special day for the NBA and its fans because it is the celebration of Kobe Bryant. During this date, the two jersey numbers he wore during his career with the Los Angeles Lakers (8 / 24) are remembered and celebrated and they were also incorporated into the basketball game. The timing couldn’t have been better for Visual Concepts as NBA 2K24 is dedicated to the late star, and intriguing details were unveiled today.

The announcement was made through a press release, where Visual Concepts and 2K Sports stated that NBA 2K24 would include a game mode in the video game named “Mamba Moments.” This mode, which was playable in previous years, saw players stepping into the shoes of legends like Michael Jordan. This time, NBA 2K24 will place gamers in specific matches that marked Kobe Bryant’s brilliant career.

The idea for this mode is to bring back what the basketball legend accomplished on the NBA court during matches that have left a footprint in history. Reportedly, NBA 2K24 will debut on September 8 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC.
