A New York man, named Frank Siragusa, filed a lawsuit against Taco Bell on court alleging that the fast-food chain misled customers with “unfair and deceptive trade practices.” According to the man, the brand lowered the beef portions and other ingredients in several meals on their menu items, including the Crunchwrap Supreme and Grande Crunchwrap in real life orders, which does not match the advertising images they have utilized for their products.

Siragusa provided proof of these meals in the lawsuit. He compared the Taco Bell advertisements to photos of food he had actually received from the franchise. The difference is very clear and noticeable, as both crunch wraps have significantly less amount of food in the pictures the man utilized for the suit. The inside is less filled with beef, vegetables, and cheese, and the size of the product is much smaller. In this regard, the lawsuit states that:

“Taco Bell’s advertisements for the Overstated Menu Items are unfair and financially damaging to consumers as they are receiving a product that is materially lower in value than what is being promised. Taco Bell’s actions are especially concerning now that inflation, food, and meat prices are very high and many consumers, especially lower income consumers, are struggling financially.”

In addition, Siragusa also included the Vegan Crunchwrap and the Mexican Pizza in the lawsuit, as these meals also have the same issue described above. The man expects to obtain 5 million dollars if the lawsuit is in his favor. He also stated that compensation is needed for all customers who bought Taco Bell products such as: Crunchwrap Supreme®, Grande Crunchwrap®, Vegan Crunchwrap®, Mexican Pizza, or Veggie Mexican Pizza. All of these products located in the state of New York since July 31, 2020.
