A stray dog was found carrying an abandoned baby girl who was abandoned in Lebanon. The event took place outside a municipal building in Lebanon’s city Tripoli on Wednesday, July 19. Reportedly, the baby had been inside a garbage bag left outside the building and the stray dog carried her to safety.
It has been said that one of the people who has passing by heard the baby crying and identified that the sound was coming from the black trash bag. It was being held in the dog’s mouth, which impressed witnesses as they could have thought that the animal could have seen the baby as a meal.
After this, the infant was taken to the Islamic Hospital and was eventually transferred to the Tripoli Government Hospital for treatment. The evidence of the abandonment shows the little girl with abrasions and red bruises all over her face and body. The age has not been revealed to the public, but some speculate she could be 4 months old.
Following the revelation of the tragic abandonment, users all over the Internet praised the dog for its behavior and condemned the person who left the baby. Similarly, a Tripoli journalist, Ghassan Rifi, stated in Arabic that “It was not known whether the ‘wild lady’ who threw the child and fled to an unknown destination had intended to throw her in the area so that the dogs would finish her off and eat her corpse or to draw attention to her.” He later added “But in all cases, the dog that dragged her was more humane in the face of the brutality and criminality of the one who threw her.”
