A New Jersey man, Tom Stuker, purchased an airline pass over 30 years ago. This has allowed the car dealer consultant to fly more miles than any other person in the history of United Airlines, and arguably in the history of traveling itself.

The 69-year-old man purchased an airline pass from United Airlines back in 1990. At the time, he bought it for $290,000 and he has now flown over 23 million miles (37 million kilometers) thanks to the timely purchase. According to the Washington Post, the man has even cataloged it as the “best investment in my life.”

Stuker has flown more than the Apollo 11 spacecraft during the last 33 years and has visited over 100 countries with the United Airlines service. In addition, after accruing a number of frequent flyer miles, he has been able to stay at luxurious hotels, enjoy cruises and have gourmet meals. He has even used the miles for redoing his brother’s house.

All the benefits he has obtained from the miles keep coming to the list as Stuker prides himself on spending very little money. For instance, he obtained 50,000 dollars from a Walmart gift card, has taken his wife to (as he likes to call them) numerous honeymoons, and made a cameo at a popular sitcom after earning more than 400,000 miles. About the millionaire-like life he has had, Stuker said:

“If I spend more than a week in one place, I’m like, ‘I gotta get back in the air.’ I’m more afraid to be on the ground than in the air.”

He stated that he will keep on doing these trips for fun, not for work or vacation. “I’m in love with flying,” the New Jersey man affirmed.
