Britney Spears revealed on Instagram that her dream had always been to get married in a Catholic church, even though she was raised a Southern Baptist. In the end, she had to settle for a home wedding because they told her that, as she belonged to a different religion she had to pass a preliminary exam.
“She wanted to go to mass every Sunday. It was a beautiful place and they said it was temporarily closed due to covid“, the pop star explained in a message she posted on the famous social network.
“Two years later, when I wanted to get married there, they told me that I had to be Catholic and also pass an exam. Isn’t the church supposed to open its doors to everyone?” She questioned.

Britney did not specify which temple she had imposed these conditions on, but she did share a photo of her interior to explain why she was so excited to celebrate her wedding there.
Thanks to this, her followers did not take long to identify the church as one of Los Angeles and a representative of the temple spoke denying the singer’s story. According to his records, Britney never visited her facility in person or reported the possibility of getting married there.
The image that Spears shared on Instagram was apparently taken from a live broadcast of a wedding that the church itself performed, in which she was not present. He also acknowledged that for one of his priests to officiate at her wedding it would have been necessary for at least one of the parties to be Catholic.
