Elliot Page talks about the difficulties in his transition as a transgender person

Elliot Page, who came out in December 2020 as a trans man, went to Late Night with Seth Meyers, where he acknowledged that he currently feels “in a way that I never really thought possible for a long, long time“.

During the interview, the Oscar-nominated interpreter explained how he deals with “negative reactions” from strangers on a daily basis, after coming out of the closet, and which demonstrates the maturity and fullness that he lives in this stage of life.

“What I want to focus on now, and it’s been so extraordinary, is the degree of joy that I feel, the degree of presence that I feel“, he said.

“I feel in a way that I never thought possible for a long, long time. So that’s really what I’m focusing on and embracing more. But of course the moments can be overwhelming“, Page explained to the show’s host.

The actor, who play Vanya in “The Umbrella Academy“, commented on the show Tuesday night that it’s normal to deal with “expectations, kind of limits and restrictions” in everyday life, and that there is an “obsession” about “how we’re supposed to live our lives”

“For me, it would be very special if we could all connect and talk about how similar we are in all of our journeys“, the actor added.

In the other hand, in April 2021 interview with Vanity Fair, Elliot Page confessed that when he was little, he “absolutely knew he was a boy“.

“He wrote fake love letters and signed them ‘Jason.’ Every little aspect of my life, that’s who I was, who I am and who I knew myself to be. I just couldn’t understand when they said, ‘No, you’re not. No, you can’t be that when you’re older’“, he recounted on that occasion.
