Just a year after the departure of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry from the British royal family became official, the couple found themselves embroiled in a new controversy, following their statements in an interview with the famous American presenter Oprah Winfrey.

This interview was one of the most anticipated, which was conducted a few weeks after it became known that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were expecting their second child.

The conversation with the presenter lasted two hours, in which both Markle and Harry made revelations that exposed the most intimate secrets of the British royal family. Some of the most shocking were the fact that among the royals, there was concern about the skin tone of the couple’s first child, Archie, calling into question the issue of racism.

The pressure of the crown towards Meghan was another of the controversial confessions since, the former actress assured that she came to think about suicide, using phrases such as “I simply did not want to stay alive“. On his part, Prince Harry revealed that his relationship with his father was bad, as Prince Charles did not answer his calls, among other revelations such as that the second son of the couple would be a girl.

After the controversial statements of the couple, Buckingham Palace, headed by Queen Elizabeth II, issued a statement in which it assured that the British royal family was “saddened” by what was said in the interview and that it would take action on the matter among its members.
